Minister Criticizes PTI for Lack of Action Against Terrorism

Islamabad:Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar criticized the PTI's approach to consultations, stating that their excuse of involving all parties has become outdated over the past three years.

According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar responded to PTI leader Salman Akram Raja's statement on X, noting that the Federal Government had reached out for collaboration, but PTI failed to engage in these proposals.

Tarar accused PTI of responding to federal calls for joint anti-terrorism efforts only due to its weakened political stance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He alleged that PTI's narrative supports terrorism while claiming to combat it, and criticized their reluctance to participate in Federal Apex Committee meetings or hold their own to address terrorism issues.

He highlighted the lack of condemnation from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and cabinet against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan for sponsoring cross-border terrorism, and criticized the provincial government for not supporting the Armed Forces and police.

The Minister questioned the implementation of the National Action Plan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, specifically regarding illegal activities and police capacity enhancement, and demanded PTI leaders show support for security forces by attending funerals and visiting posts.

Tarar condemned PTI's strategy of proposing consultations under pressure, stating that their rhetoric has led to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's instability and economic damage. He urged PTI to abandon false narratives and warned against further confusing the public with outdated rhetoric.
