Ulaanbaatar:Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to bolster economic cooperation, aiming to turn existing agreements into tangible projects with specific timelines and funding strategies.
According to Radio Pakistan, the consensus was reached during a meeting between Pakistan's Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasimov in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Discussions during the meeting highlighted the importance of regional connectivity, investment, and international financing, with a particular focus on the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the need for Pakistan and Uzbekistan to progress from political agreements to projects that can be banked on, resulting in measurable economic outcomes. He noted that the railway could serve as a transformative connection between Central Asian markets and Pakistan's ports.
