Pakistan and Sudan Strengthen Ties with Diverse Cooperation Initiatives

Islamabad:Pakistan and Sudan have reaffirmed their commitment to expand bilateral cooperation across various sectors. This development comes as part of the ongoing diplomatic and official exchanges between the two nations, highlighted by the visit of Sudanese Interior Minister Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa to Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Sudanese government is currently enhancing its police department's capabilities with the help of training from Pakistan, aiming for more efficient and people-friendly policing. This initiative is crucial as the Sudanese army currently undertakes most of the police department's duties, necessitating the strengthening of the police force. Discussions on this matter were held between the Sudanese Interior Minister and his Pakistani counterpart, Mohsin Naqvi, focusing on the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

Additionally, Sudan has historically supported and advocated for Pakistan's political and diplomatic efforts in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international forums. In military cooperation, Pakistan is positioned to meet the arms and ammunition needs of the Sudanese military. Furthermore, both countries have signed an agreement for visa-free travel on official and diplomatic passports, facilitating more frequent exchanges of officials between the two nations.
